The schedule is winding down for the Texas Rangers, who returned home Sunday night after a victory over Milwaukee that prevented them from being swept by baseball’s best team. The Rangers will face the A’s and the Rays on a seven-game homestand and must win at least four of them. Jacob deGrom will pitch the opener as he tries to bounce back from a terrible start at Chicago. The A’s have been ravaged by injuries but won a home series vs. the Rangers earlier this month and one the first series at Globe Life Field in April. The Rays are the best record in the American League, so a four-game split might be difficult but it’s necessary.
