Episode 3 - Yugi & the Tengu

Hello Story Lovers!

Today's story from Japan and features a wonderful creature from Japanese myth and legend – the Tengu!

Tengus are supernatural beings with special powers and magical items. They can be depicted as part man, part bird, even as part monkey, and they have often been painted or drawn with red faces and long noses or beaks. They are not to be trifled with, as you will soon find out. If you want to find out more about Tengus you can do so HERE.

We love Geraldine McCaughrean's version of the story - 'Never Tangle with a Tengu', which Emily heard as a child and we owe credit to.
