Live out of your identity in Christ - vs 12</strong></p><ul><li><p>God’s chosen one(s)</p></li><li><p>Holy</p></li><li><p>Beloved</p></li></ul><p><em>___ So, because we are set apart as God&#39;s people, our lives should look like God&#39;s people!  ___</em></p><p><strong>2. Put on the character of Christ - vs. 13-14</strong></p><p><em>___So, this list of attributes doesn&#39;t establish our identity; they express our identity.  ___</em></p><ul><li><p>Compassion - mercy, pity</p></li><li><p>Kindness- goodness in action</p></li><li><p>Humility - lowliness of mind</p></li><li><p>Meekness - gentleness, strength that doesn&#39;t have to dominate</p></li><li><p>Patience - endurance, perseverance, long-suffering</p></li><li><p>Forbearance - to hold up, to sustain, to endure</p></li><li><p>Forgiving - to pardon</p></li><li><p>Love - loving God and people</p></li></ul><p><strong>3. Let Christ’s peace rule - vs 15</strong></p><ul><li><p>Peace - the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ.</p></li><li><p>Rule - to act as an umpire</p><ul><li><p>Christ&#39;s peace umpires how we respond to one another. When there is conflict, hurt, competing interests, let the peace of Christ be the whistle that brings us together.</p></li><li><p>Christ has made peace. Therefore, Christians pursue peace with each other.</p></li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>4. Be thankful - vs 15, 16, 17</strong></p><ul><li><p>Thankful - grateful, mindful of favors</p></li></ul><p><strong>5. Let Christ’s Word dwell richly among you - vs 16, 3:10</strong></p><ul><li><p>Dwell - reside, inhabit, settle down in a place</p></li><li><p>Richly - abundantly</p><ul><li><p>Teaching</p></li><li><p>Admonishing</p></li><li><p>Singing</p></li><li><p>Thankfulness</p></li></ul></li></ul><p><em>___ Paul isn&#39;t just talking about a good quiet time. He is describing a Gospel-centered, Word-saturated community of believers! ___</em></p><p><strong>6. Do everything in Jesus’ name - vs 17</strong></p><ul><li><p>Do everything as a person who belongs to Jesus, represents Jesus, and acts under Jesus&#39; authority.</p></li><li><p>Whatever you do, whether you say it or do it, do all of it in the name of Jesus.
