My Family Were Miami Kingpins—Then I Got In the Game

OG BBE joins **Honor Among Thieves Podcast** to share how growing up in a family of Miami kingpins shaped his own entry into the drug game. From his father’s street connections to his brother Boss Man Sawyer’s reputation and his uncle’s cocaine business, he describes a childhood surrounded by money, influence, addiction, and prison sentences. He explains what it meant to carry his family’s name—and how he eventually started hustling himself.

Starting as a lookout at approximately 12 years old, OG BBE recounts his progression from earning $200 a week to what he describes as $10,000 nights selling crack cocaine in Miami. He discusses dealing through a hurricane, operating on a corner where his brother had once sold drugs, and eventually moving into wholesale cocaine with his uncle as his supplier. Along the way, he reflects on the gambling, expensive cars, robberies, and violence that accompanied his rise in Miami’s drug trade.

The conversation follows his arrest, a retaliatory shooting at his mother’s house, and his time in Florida state prison, including Santa Rosa Correctional Institution. OG BBE also opens up about losing his uncle shortly before his release, taking responsibility for the people he hurt, and building a different life through fatherhood and music. This episode explores Miami crime history through one man’s account of family influence, drug trafficking, incarceration, and redemption.
