In this episode, in addition to my real life somatic-mindset resilience stories and perspectives, I also share the answer I gave to a Quora question from today. I will put it down below for those of you who want to use it or get ideas from it to integrate in what you're already doing for yourself or with your clients, teams, and community.

Quora question: How do you stay cheerful when the work you’re doing is breaking your back?

My answer: Perspective/mindset makes a big difference, but so does your physical ability to get some good rest time for your body. That is, if you want to be completely realistic about achieving any level of cheerfulness in a way that doesn't have your body-mind call out BS when you attempt bringing in cheerfulness.

Having said that. Here is a mindset-somatic practice you can try for cheerfulness:

Get good rest, or some rest, however it is you can integrate it in your day-to-day 24 hours.

Keep in mind that your work serves to give you your livelihood, and if you have family you support, your family's livelihood too.

With your loved ones in mind and real-life expectations, allow for your heart to stay open and breath love through it.

A somatic exercise to accompany your thoughts if you are ok with doing it would be to use breath to support tension release. An example, from your heart’s breath move the breath to your belly. Then as you breath out, lift your shoulders and free up your body to hold space.

Visualize cheerfulness and bring it to your mind's eye, to your body, and as you're breathing, to your face a smile.

Do this for however little time you want (1–5 minutes) or when it comes to mind that you want to bring cheerfulness to your day.

For long-term mindset work, you can add journaling or achievable goals that could lead you to a change in career.

For long-term somatic work try baths, massages, or any relaxing and/or rejuvenating activity is available to you. Another practice could be to bring ease, and cheerfulness, to your body whenever you're sitting down in a comfortable position.

Vision boards are another idea. You could create one for cheerfulness. Put on the board your workplace, your loved ones, your happy places, all things that bring a smile to your heart and mind.

----

Get your practical guide to
