KFR 168: Pokemon's first three movies have aged... oddly?

With Pokemon turning 30 this year, we realised we’ve never talked about its early films! We talked about the anime as a whole back in episode 102 as Ash’s journey came to an end, but the early films are a whole different beast, from a time when Pokemon was only just staking it’s claim to the monster catching title! While Mewtwo Strikes Back, The Power of One, and The Spell Of The Unown may hold a place dear in our hearts, they also were during a time where localisation sometimes completely rewrote dialogue for no good reason. So strap in for a fun but odd chat about what made the cut, and what didn’t! SUPPORT USPatreon: Patreon.com/KawaiiFiBuy us a Coffee: Ko-fi.com/kawaiifi NEWS ITEMSVoice Actor Mike McFarland passes away at 56Saint Seiya Creator sues former manager and team for 2.8 Billion Yen Live-Action Look Back Film previews memorable scenesGodzilla Minus Zero drops IMAX Trailer Kagurabachi extends preview screening to more countries Specials coming for My Happy Marriage Anime on October 25 VIDEOS!Kawaii-Fi YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/KawaiiFiKyle’s YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@KyleinOrbitTifa's YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/thetkennedy JOIN THE KAWAII-FI COMMUNITYFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/KawaiiFiAnime/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kawaiifianime/Threads: https://www.threads.net/@kawaiifianimeTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@kawaiifianimeDiscord: https://discord.gg/p9ccFx8vTQ LISTEN ELSEWHERE?Spotify: https://bit.ly/Kawaii-FiSpotifyApple: https://bit.ly/Kawaii-FiAppleYT Music: https://bit.ly/Kawaii-Fi-YMCastbox: https://bit.ly/Kawaii-FiCastboxGoodpod: https://bit.ly/Kawaii-fiGoodpodAmazon Music: https://bit.ly/Kawaii-FiAmazonPocket Casts: https://bit.ly/Kawaii-FiPocket EPISODE SEGMENTS00:00:00 – Show Opener00:02:56 – What We’re Watching00:21:00 – Cinema club: Pokemon Movies01:13:40 – Anime Communique01:28:41 – Next Time, testing boundaries and Dinosaur Ninjas! Tags:Anime,Manga,Anime Podcast, podcast,Anime Recommendations,,anime reviews,New anime, top 10 anime,Best anime, anime news,Pokemon,Pokemon The Movie,Mewtwo strikes back,Pokemon 2000,Pokemon 3,Pokemon films,Chainsmoker,Isekai Izakaya,Izakaya Nobu,Dorohedoro,Mike McFarland,Master Roshi,Saint Seiya,Masami Kurumada,Look Back,Live Action,Godzilla,Godzilla Minus One,Godzilla Minus Zero,Kagurabachi,My Happy Marriage
