PHILLIES POSTCAST: Painter, MORE bad base running DOOM Philadelphia Phillies in 6-5 LOSS to Astros

The Philadelphia Phillies fall to the Houston Astros 6-5 thanks to Andrew Painter’s location issues returning and MORE bad bases running.

Andrew Painter allowed 5 runs on 10 hits and 2 walks while throwing 98 pitches over just 5 innings of work. Painter allowed a 3-run homer in the 2nd to Astros’ 7-hole hitter Christian Walker on a sinker that leaked inside … then he allowed a solo shot to 9-hole hitter Cam Smith on a sweeper JT Called for away, but it ended up all ovet the middle of the plate.

Brooks Raley gave up another homer this one to Dalton Varsho a solo homer that proved to be the difference in the game.

The Phillies bats did come up with 5 runs on 10 hits, but came up with more base running blunders! The MOST egregious came in the 7th, with Marsh on 2nd, Stott on Third, Phillies down two, with no outs, Realmuto lines out to short and Marsh gets doubled off 2nd!
