Lean Into Legacy -The Grief We Don't Talk About, Trauma, Loss, and Learning to Live Forward

Grief is something most of us will experience, but traumatic grief can affect us in ways we may not recognize or understand. This Monday on Lean Into Legacy with JJ, I’m joined by Kiva Harper, LCSW-S, a nationally recognized trauma expert, keynote speaker, consultant, and mental health professional with more than 20 years of experience helping people heal from trauma and traumatic grief. Her work has included combat veterans and first responders living with PTSD, survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, and families impacted by suicide and criminally negligent homicide. She has also spoken to national and international audiences, including TEDx, and has been recognized for her leadership and expertise in trauma-focused care. Kiva Harper Media Kit. We’re going to talk about when grief and trauma intersect, what the stages of grief really mean, why some people feel “stuck” after loss, and what resources are available when grief becomes more difficult to carry. We’ll also explore why understanding traumatic grief is especially important for military members, veterans, and families who may be used to pushing through pain instead of processing it. If you’ve ever wondered why a loss still feels so heavy, why certain memories won’t let go, or how to support someone who is grieving, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss. Join us Monday for a powerful conversation about grief, trauma, healing, and learning how to move forward without forgetting what mattered.
