While being held captive and tortured in his apartment for eighteen hours, she carefully memorized crucial details to aid in her eventual escape. Once her captor fell asleep, she successfully freed herself and led law enforcement to the apartment, which ultimately linked Evonitz to multiple unsolved murders. Today, she is a wife, mother, and prominent advocate who shares her powerful survival story through documentaries, podcasts, and true crime television series to help other victims.
