Ex-Fiancé Murdered Young Mom in Cold-Blooded Killing

In Independence, Kentucky, a tragic domestic violence incident culminated in a deadly shooting at an apartment complex after a young mother named Heaven Glisten tried to escape her abusive ex-fiancé, Donald Bryant. Just days prior to the murders, police had responded to an initial emergency call regarding Bryant's threatening behavior, but ultimately allowed him to leave without making an arrest. When Bryant returned to the property two days later, he fatally shot Glisten and accidentally killed an innocent bystander named Dalen Bradford, who had apparently attempted to intervene. Following an extensive manhunt involving SWAT teams and drones, authorities discovered that Bryant had committed suicide in the nearby woods after the rampage. Experts analyzing the case note that such escalations after a breakup are distressingly common, highlighting systemic flaws in how law enforcement handles domestic abuse threats.
