What has dominion over you?

Zach and Jill look at the story of the golden calf in Deuteronomy and what it reveals about idolatry, sin, and our tendency to let created things take control of our lives. From addiction and image to control, success, and self-preservation, idols rarely stay things we simply enjoy—they eventually begin to rule us.

But the answer isn’t simply trying harder. In Christ, we’re invited back into communion with God, where the things that once controlled us can be put to death and redeemed life can begin again.

The best time to start may have been years ago. The second best time is right now.
