Frontier Gentleman - "Aces and Eights" (1958)

Frontier Gentleman presents “Aces and Eights,” episode 36, originally broadcast on CBS on October 12, 1958. John Dehner stars as London Times reporter J. B. Kendall, with Lawrence Dobkin as Wild Bill Hickok and Virginia Gregg as Calamity Jane.

Kendall arrives in Deadwood, Dakota Territory, where a poker game and the legend of Wild Bill Hickok bring him close to the story behind the West’s famous “dead man’s hand”—aces and eights. Written, produced, and directed by Antony Ellis, this is a newly recorded production of a story first presented earlier in 1958.

Old Time Western Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
