Trophy at Lambeau: Brewers Crash TNF, Packers Beat Carolina 27-19
The Packers beat the Carolina Panthers 27-19 on Thursday Night Football, and Cal Hutson nailed his 27-point prediction. But first, the moment of the night: less than 24 hours after winning the World Series, the Brewers brought the Commissioner's Trophy to Lambeau Field. Brandon Woodruff carried it out of the tunnel with Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick and Brice Turang, Bernie Brewer joined them, and Frelick did a Lambeau Leap.
Then the football. Tucker Kraft scored against the team he got hurt against last year. Josh Jacobs had two touchdowns and passed 10,000 career scrimmage yards. Matthew Golden dropped a touchdown and caught one on the next play. Christian Watson went to the hospital and came back in the same game. The defense had six sacks, Ty'Ron Hopper caught his own tip for an interception, and the game ended with the ball popping straight up three times before Brenton Cox Jr. fell on it. Plus what needs fixing, the mini-bye, and New England on Nov. 8.
