Masters of the Universe

Welcome to today's episode of Queerly Popular! Today, we are going to talk about the 2026 film Masters of the Universe.

This film does not have queer characters, but there is a lot of homoeroticism in it and other queer elements, including a systematic critique of toxic masculinity. It is a fun and lovely film that does not take itself too seriously. It is cheesy and it knows it. It embraces the cheese and is all the better for it. I really cannot recommend this movie highly enough.
