In Luke chapter 15 verses 1-7, Jesus welcomes the very people whom the religious leaders believe he should reject, revealing that Christianity is not for those who think they are good enough, but for those who know they need saving. Through the parable of the lost sheep, Jesus shows how passionately he pursues the lost, carries them home, and celebrates their repentance. In contrast to the grumbling joy of pride, the grace of God invites us to stop comparing ourselves with others and rest in the love of our Saviour.
