EP85 - Altra Changed the Running World. Co-Founder Brian Beckstead Explains How

Brian Beckstead, co-founder of Altra, joins Gary and Ben for a proper RUNcensored deep dive into the story behind one of running’s most distinctive brands.

We start, naturally, with Premier League football and Brian’s highly suspicious decision to “randomly” choose a new team to support before getting into the story of Altra, its humble family beginnings, the challenges of starting a running brand from scratch and the ideas that changed the game, including Zero Drop and Altra’s famous roomy toe box.

We also talk about Altra’s influence on the running industry, the industry’s influence on Altra, the changing world of performance racing shoes and what comes next for the brand.

A proper conversation with one of the key figures behind one of running’s most recognisable brands.
