Season 1 of Lanterns has wrapped up, and I understand both sides of the debate. Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre deliver great performances as Hal Jordan and John Stewart, but I wanted more Green Lantern action, powers, and heroics.

In my full-season review, I discuss the strong character work, the True Detective approach, the “Surf Dracula” problem, John Stewart’s repeated origin stories, and the frustration of deconstructing superheroes before establishing them.
