Go To The Ant, O Sluggard

Go To The Ant, O Sluggard2. Aug.32 Min.

In today’s culture, work is rarely seen as a positive thing. People tend to avoid work, find shortcuts, and put in just enough effort to “get it done,” but no more than that. It has become normal to find ways to get out of doing work, and it does seem harmless. But is that really the mindset that we should be having, not just as workers, but as Christians? Are we really meant to just look busy and simply fill the time, or are we to work hard and with zeal, doing the best that we can in not only our workplaces, but in our churches, our marriages, our friendships, our families, our free time?

As we look at Proverbs 6:6-8, we will see that work is not something to be avoided, but instead a good gift from God; not something to do out of reluctance, but something to be done joyfully; and not something to be done simply for man, but for the Lord Christ, looking forward to the promises that we can be assured of.
