Nancy and Sluggo - The Big Surprise

This illustrated children's book tells the story of Nancy and Sluggo as they navigate financial limitations while window-shopping for summer camp gear. After seeing Sluggo admire an expensive Indian chief headdress, Nancy secretly decides to earn the money to buy it for him by performing household chores for her aunt. Unaware of her generosity, Sluggo attempts to trick Nancy out of her earnings by dressing up as a beggar to gain her sympathy. The conflict resolves when Sluggo discovers her kind intentions, leading him to confess his deception and help her with a rummage sale. Ultimately, the two friends reconcile, and Nancy rewards Sluggo’s honesty and hard work with the headdress and a soda.
