Hey ya’ll hey!

Thanks for tuning into Episode 111 of Tellemtiptoldyou—"What Are You Waiting For?” Lot’s of people are in (or preparing to enter) what they’re now calling the “winter arc.” As we begin to approach Q4 of 2026, it’s time to think about all of the things we want to accomplish and the strategies that we will use to be successful (both individually and collectively). This episode encourages us to think more deeply about what it means as a community.

Only those hiding under a rock have missed conversations around Nikole Hannah-Jones’ article about the decisions she and her husband made related to her daughter’s education. I wanted to share with you my thoughts both as someone who works in education and as someone who studies the history of Black education in the United States. Here’s the secret, she’s certainly not the first person to reach similar conclusions and we owe her the grace of understanding the historical context within which her decision was made.

I’ll use Ryan Clark’s new Pivot sports show to discuss what I think many of us should be doing right now, and I’d love to hear your take on it.

As a matter of fact, I’d love to hear what you think about all of these ideas. And, if you’re really wanting to unpack the ideas around Black history, spirituality, or culture, please consider being a guest on the podcast. Send me an email at drtip@tellemtiptoldyou.com.

After you tune in, let me know what you think of this episode by leaving me a 5-star review and if you're interested, here's the website for the Shine Program: www.shineprofessionaldevelopment.com..
