Scottie Scheffler’s Presidents Cup Problem, Live From Medinah

The Dan Evans Show is live from Medinah Country Club for Presidents Cup week.

With players already on site and the course being prepared before the crowds arrive, Dan and the crew break down the biggest story surrounding Team USA: Scottie Scheffler is almost unbeatable in normal stroke play, but team golf has been a different challenge.

The guys get into Scottie’s 3-5-1 Presidents Cup record, why match play changes the way he has to compete, and how that compares to Justin Thomas at 10-0-2. They also debate whether opponents bring a different level of intensity when they draw Scottie and whether this is finally the week he changes the story.

Plus, the crew discusses Team USA’s recent international losses, Jackson Koivun’s opportunity, Geoff Ogilvy’s connection to the Medinah redesign, the brutal four-inch rough, wet course conditions, Medinah’s championship history, and what they are seeing firsthand from inside the property during Presidents Cup week.

Chapters:

00 Live from Medinah for Presidents Cup week

53 Team USA needs to end its losing streak

46 Scottie Scheffler’s team golf problem

57 Can Scottie finally figure out team golf?

18 JJ Spaun enters the conversation

33 Jackson Koivun’s big opportunity

15 Does the International Team have a Medinah advantage?

02 Is it fair that the International captain helped design the course?

41 The 21-year-old rookie vs. the 39-year-old rookie

49 Is Team USA overthinking team golf?

37 Why playing for your country feels different

43 The Presidents Cup rough is four inches long

21 Dan’s advice after playing Medinah 17:51 Why Medinah punishes bad shots

39 Why the Presidents Cup starts on Medinah’s fifth hole

01 Watching players practice from the first tee

18 What everyone wants to see this week

10 Scottie redemption or Jackson Koivun breakout?

43 Dan gets invited back to play Medinah

40 The wild history of Medinah Country Club

08 Medinah’s incredible championship history

51 Scottie’s 3-5-1 Presidents Cup record

05 Justin Thomas is 10-0-2

16 Why match play is completely different

42 Do opponents play harder against Scottie?

40 Scottie has more to lose than anyone

27 Why Rory might love the Presidents Cup
