In this episode, I speak to Julie Bindel about her investigation into the Pride in Surrey scandal — and the safeguarding failures that allowed serious abuse to take place. Many concerns were raised about Stephen Ireland by women involved in the organisation. Those concerns were dismissed, often on the basis that raising them was “transphobic” or prejudiced. What followed was a criminal conviction for the assault of a 12-year-old boy — and a series of questions about how multiple institutions failed to act.
