Picking up from where we left off in our khuṭbah today, we discussed not only how humans tend to only change when when presented with a crisis, we also talked about how change takes grit, determination and courage, as found in the statement of the Prophet ‎ﷺ

احرِصْ على ما يَنفَعُكَ، واستَعِنْ باللهِ ولا تَعجِزْ

“Guard that is beneficial for you, seek help through God, and don’t be weak!”

itself taken from a longer ḥadīth, “The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allāh than a weak one though each has good in them1.”
