The Man Who Mapped The Other Side - The Story Of Robert Monroe
Robert Monroe was a radio broadcasting executive running a sleep-learning experiment in Virginia in 1958 when a beam of light appeared to pass through his body and his frame began to vibrate violently. He thought he was having a seizure. Doctors found nothing. Weeks later, during another episode, he pushed against the wall beside his bed and his hand went through it. Some weeks after that, he found himself near the ceiling of his bedroom, looking down at two people in a bed. One of them was his wife. The other one was him.
⠀
He took notes for years before telling anybody. The notes became three books, an institute still operating in the Virginia hills, a sound technology the United States Army commissioned a lieutenant colonel to evaluate, and a numbered map of consciousness that thousands of people have used to find their way to the same places and compare what they saw.
⠀
Somewhere in the middle of it, he was handed an account of what this planet is and what it is for, and it put him into a depression that lasted months. Then the account got corrected. The crude product is fear. The refined product is love. And the beings furthest along the road, the ones he had taken for something entirely other than human, turned out to be what we become.
⠀
Today I take you through the whole thing - the map, the sound, the loosh account, the corrections, and the practice you can begin today.
