ATF Ends Suppressor Registration + Georgia’s $950K Surveillance SUV | The States
Virginia steps back on Flock Cameras, ATF announces rule changes for suppressors, Georgia Department of Human Services spends $1M on a Chevy, and polling shows many are concerned about Socialist candidates.
On today's episode of The States, host Greg Bishop looks at Virginia cities ending their Flock contracts and talks to West Virginia Delegate Tristan Leavitt about his efforts to get on the record answers from Flock as concerns continue to rise about the license plater reader technology and data security.
Bishop also looks at an announcement from the ATF that they will not be enforcing suppressor registration requirements. Reactions range from gun control groups who say these changes pose a danger to public safety to Republican Attorneys General who celebrate it as a win but raise concerns that it could be only temporary. The Center Square's Johnny Edwards joins to discuss the Georgia Department of Human Services and their expensive technology that is raising 4th amendment concerns. And the latest Voters' Voice Poll shows inflation and the economy are still the biggest issues for voters but some voters say they are concerned about Socialist candidates getting elected, about the impact of tariffs, and the potential for non-citizens voting in the midterm election.
