The Rogue Black Hair…And Other Things Nobody Warned Us About After 50

Isn't it funny how getting older is nothing like we imagined?

Nobody told us that the hair we'd spent decades trying to tame would suddenly start disappearing…while one rogue black hair would appear on the back of our leg with the confidence of a woman who just bought beachfront property.

Nobody warned us that we'd need reading glasses in every room. That we'd walk into the kitchen and forget why.

That our knees would begin making sounds normally associated with microwave popcorn.

Or that one day we'd look in the mirror and realize something much bigger than our bodies had changed.

We had.

In this episode, I'm talking about what it really feels like to be 55 — the strange body changes, the beauty expectations, the fashion rules we've outgrown, the insecurities we carry, and the unexpected freedom that comes when we stop trying to look like the woman we used to be.

Because maybe youth gets attention…but self-acceptance brings peace.

And at this stage of life?

I'll take peace. Every time.

Although I am still plucking that hair.

Because acceptance and tweezers can absolutely coexist.

🎙️The Rogue Black Hair is a funny, honest conversation about aging after 50, confidence, body changes, beauty, midlife, and learning to love the woman you're becoming.
