Just tell us where you were | Jennifer Jackson
On June 5, 2005, Jennifer Jackson was found dead in her East Memphis home, stabbed more than 50 times. Her 18-year-old daughter Noura told police she came home and found her. Investigators didn't buy it.
Noura was charged with her mother's murder and, in 2009, convicted of second-degree murder after a trial that leaned hard on her partying, her texts and her lifestyle. Years later, the Tennessee Supreme Court overturned the conviction, citing a witness statement prosecutors withheld until after the trial and a closing argument that pointed at Noura's decision not to testify.
Rather than face a second trial, Noura took an Alford plea to voluntary manslaughter, pleading guilty while maintaining her innocence. She walked free in 2016. The prosecutor went on to face a disciplinary case of her own.
Where do you stand on this case? Was it Noura? Or was it someone else that will never be held responsible?
