Trinity Chats Episode 43

The Best of Two Evils?

Why do Christians so often drift toward either legalism or antinomianism?

In this episode of Trinity Chats, Pastor Tim and Eddie discuss two opposite errors that distort the Christian life. Legalism seeks acceptance with God through obedience, while antinomianism treats obedience as unnecessary because of grace. Both misunderstand the proper relationship between law and gospel.

The answer is not finding a balance between two errors, but recovering gospel obedience. The law cannot justify us, but it does guide the believer. We obey God not to earn His acceptance, but because we have already been accepted in Christ.
