Before the prophet Nathan confronts King David with those infamous words: "King, you are the man!",  he rehearses the hardest message of his life with Gad: fellow prophet and loyal friend.

David's delusion and entitlement have lulled him to sleep. The question becomes: what kind of story does it take to wake a sleeping king?
