Episode 103: Dr. Kevin Patrick Author of Near Woods and IUP Prof. Featuring Aaron Kovach

Dr Kevin Patrick, Geography professor at IUP and author, joined me to talk about his book, Near Woods: A Year in an Allegheny Forest. The book takes the reader through four seasons in White's Woods, a 250 acre patch of woods adjacent to Indiana Pa. The book is an incredibly enjoyable read that could be describing ANY patch of woods in Western Pa. and can be purchased below (although, near the end of the pod we talk about the LOCAL shops where you can pick it up. That's the reccomended way to buy it!):

https://www.amazon.com/Near-Woods-Year-Allegheny-Forest/dp/0811772217/ref=sr_1_1?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.gLakQH4mRTdxbRX0AtVI3bT7uSQSopGTKOoUE50Ddupk1jMKjwPAfndbGaxKAU0M.MGhPb6xHNl2lvD65OWtWZDvsBUYTfYR-HUd-Hagke0w&dib_tag=se&keywords=near+woods+a+year+in+an+allegheny+forest&nsdOptOutParam=true&qid=1790681044&sr=8-1

You can also follow Dr. Patrick on IG:

https://www.instagram.com/nearwoods/
