The Murder of Jason Sweeney

Sixteen year old Jason Sweeney was building a future for himself when his girlfriend led him deep into the woods along Philadelphia’s Delaware River. However, what he didn't know was that three teenage boys he knew were waiting for him, including his childhood best friend, armed and prepared to kill him for the $500 paycheque in his pocket.

The attack that followed was so savage that nearly every bone in Jason’s face was broken, yet what the group did afterward would make the crime even more disturbing. Ultimately what emerged was a calculated story of jealousy, drugs, and betrayal, in which four teenagers decided that the life of their own friend was worth just $500.
