Is Preseason Actually Worth It?! Plus: WTF Are These New NHL Rules?

Hockey is officially back—and naturally, things are already getting weird. 🏒

On this episode of Double D-Fense, we’re breaking down the NHL preseason and asking the question every fan is thinking: is it actually worth it? With players risking injury before a single regular-season point is on the line, we look at some of the biggest preseason injuries and debate whether those exhibition games are necessary—or just an expensive way to get hurt.

We’re also talking suspensions and discipline from around the league, plus some of the wildest new NHL rules for the 2026–27 season.

Basically: hockey is back, nobody knows all the rules yet, and we have questions. 😂

Plus: our takes, our complaints, and whatever NHL chaos happens to find us this week.
