<p>Loving God and loving others are not two separate commands. They are inseparable. The parable of the Good Samaritan confronts the very human tendency to draw boundaries around who deserves our care and compassion. Jesus used a despised outsider as the hero of His story to make a point that would have been deeply uncomfortable for His audience. True neighbor love is not abstract or theoretical. It is tangible, inconvenient, and sometimes messy. How we treat the people around us reflects how we truly regard God, because every person bears His image. The call is simple and demanding all at once: go and do likewise.</p>
