How sustainable finance is evolving as investors rethink security and defense
In this episode of the All Things Sustainable podcast, we're exploring trends in sustainable finance: How it gained momentum, where it stands today, and where it's heading next.
Christa Clapp, Global Head of Sustainable Finance at S&P Global Ratings, explains the origin story behind the green labeled bond market and some important recent milestones for sustainable finance. She also tells us how sustainable finance labels are expanding and diversifying in markets around the globe.
We zoom in on the European market in an interview with Maurizio Pastore. Maurizio is Head of Debt and Funds Listing at Euronext, a pan-European market infrastructure group with regulated exchanges in Belgium, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and Portugal. Maurizio explains the sustainable investment trends he's seeing in Europe. And he tells us how the Russia-Ukraine war is contributing to a rising focus on investment in security and defense.
To understand how this conflict and war in the Middle East are impacting the role of security and defense in sustainable investment strategies, we talk to Sonja Gibbs, Managing Director of Global Markets and Policy at the Institute of International Finance. The IIF is a Washington, DC-based think tank and global trade association with member financial institutions around the world.
