Privacy statement

Podlinkr collects as little as possible. We don’t track listeners and show no ads. Below is exactly what we do process, why and for how long. If this English version and the Dutch one differ, the Dutch version applies.

1. Who is responsible

2. When you visit a page

We count per day how often a page was viewed and which app was tapped, per country and per episode. We derive the country from your connection. For these counts we don’t store IP addresses, and we build no profiles: what we keep are counts, not data about you.
When you choose an app, we remember it in a cookie in your own browser, so that app comes first next time.
Podlinkr runs on Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical data, such as your browser. When you request a sign-in code, we keep a hashed form of your IP address, which can’t be traced back to you, for at most a day, so nobody can make us send unlimited emails.
Podcast images load from Apple’s servers, and audio comes straight from the podcast’s host. They see your IP address as a result.
If you play an episode in the Podcastluisteren.nl player, Podcastluisteren.nl processes data under its own privacy statement.
When you tap through to an app, such as Spotify or Apple Podcasts, that app’s privacy policy applies from then on.

3. When you have an account

Your email address, to let you log in and to tell you what you need to know, such as an invitation to a team.
Login codes (valid for 10 minutes) and sessions (30 days). We only store these in encrypted form (as a hash).
Which pages you manage, in which role, and your settings.
When you claim a page, we use the email address that is publicly listed in the RSS feed, to send a code to it.

4. When you have Pro

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe processes your payment details; we only receive a customer number, the status of your subscription and its period. We don’t see or store card or account numbers. For some processing, such as preventing fraud, Stripe is itself responsible under Stripe’s privacy statement.

5. Public podcast data

Pages contain public information from feeds and podcast directories, such as a podcaster’s name. We do this based on our legitimate interest: making podcasts findable in every app. If you want us to change or remove something, email hello@podlinkr.com.

6. Email

Email we send, such as login codes, goes through Resend. Email to hello@podlinkr.com arrives through Cloudflare and is forwarded to our team’s mailboxes at Google. We keep it as long as needed to help you.

7. Why we may do this

To perform our agreement with you: your account and Pro.
Based on our legitimate interest: counting visits, security, pages with public data and remembering your app choice.
To comply with the law: our accounting.

8. Who we share data with

Only with parties we need to run Podlinkr, and with whom we have agreements about protecting data: Cloudflare (hosting and email), Stripe (payments), Resend (sending email) and Google (our mailboxes). Some of them are based in the United States. Data goes there under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We don’t sell data.

9. How long we keep data

Account data: as long as your account exists. After deletion it’s gone within 30 days.
Login codes: 10 minutes. Sessions: 30 days, or until you log out.
Payment and invoice data: 7 years, as the law requires.
Counts of visits and clicks: indefinitely. They can’t be traced back to people.

10. Cookies

Podlinkr only uses cookies needed for the site to work, which is why we don’t ask for consent. We use no tracking or advertising cookies.

11. Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct, delete or transfer your data, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Email hello@podlinkr.com. We respond within a month and may ask you to confirm it’s your data. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

12. Security

All connections to Podlinkr are encrypted (HTTPS). We store login codes and sessions only as a hash, and only people who need it for their work can access data.

13. Changes

This statement can change. The date at the top shows which version applies. We tell podcasters about important changes by email.
