Tai-Ex opening

The Tai-Ex opened down 52-points this morning from yesterday's close, at

47,130 on turnover of 8-billion N-T.

The market closed slightly higher on Wednesday despite giving up early gains,

as investors await the release of the latest data on U-S consumer prices

(消費者物價) and inflation.

Investor momentum (動能) stalled as profit-taking set in when the Tai-Ex moved

closer to the all-time intraday high of 48,218 points.

AIT chief on economic impact of Taiwan Strait conflict

American Institute in Taiwan Director Raymond Greene says a conflict across

the Taiwan Strait could inflict (造成傷害／損失) an economic cost greater than that
