Hacking the Afterlife with Jennifer Shaffer, Luana, Maverick, Hira, Robert Towne on "The Odyssey"
Another mind bending podcast.
Just prior to going on the air, I happened upon a quote from John McCain's daughter that I thought was silly, hostile - misplaced anger.
But as sometimes happens in my world, my reaction included feeling as if John McCain wanted to respond to my reaction - and I actually said "I don't want to talk about this."
Which is pretty funny. (And perhaps happens more than we know with folks stopping by?)
But Luana brought him in - Jennifer mentioned his named, literally minutes after I had this conversation (albeit a brief one.) I couldn't make it up if I tried.
He brought #AmeliaEarhart with him. For fans of the podcast they know she's a frequent visitor - and the book SHE WAS NEVER LOST: The Amelia Earhart Saga is filled with data, research and conversations we've had since I first met Jennifer (12 years ago.)
Her story hasn't changed. The research hasn't changed. Read the book, don't read the book - it's not an argument. Amelia's plane was found on June 18, 1944. See this podcast (or search for "Electra" "Hacking the Afterlife" for some clips).

Then it gets interesting. My old boss, Oscar winning writer Robert Towne shows up with his dog Hira talking about the #ChristopherNolan film #TheOdyssey - I have seen it twice, I do recommend it, and we've heard before that our loved ones on the flipside can watch a movie alongside of us - (and their tickets are free!)
So Robert talks about HIS FAVORITE SCENE IN THE MOVIE which Jennifer Shaffer has not seen.
Let me say it again.
Jennifer gives a review of The Odyssey from Robert Towne, Oscar winning writer of Chinatown, for a film SHE HAS NEVER SEEN and she talks specifically about the scene with the dog, and the scene when the son recognizes his father.
