12. Richard Evans on Hobsbawm, conspiracies and the defence of history

<p>In this episode we interviewed a special guest: renowned historian<strong> Sir Richard Evans</strong>. Evans is among other things famous for his book trilogy on the Third Reich, and his role as an expert witness in the infamous Irving-trial.</p>

<p>Over a video call we talked with him about his two latest publications: One on the life of historian Eric Hobsbawn, the other on conspiracy-theories around Hitler and the Nazi's.</p>

<p>Finally, we reflected with him on the uses and misuses of history today by governments, and the continuing need to stand in defence of our discipline.</p>
