Welcome to our STEW/ART HISTORY FORTNIGHT !

This is also an anniversary of our podcast being on the airwaves for THREE YEARS!

Thank you all for your continuing support!

We continue our mini history festival with another lesser known Stuart - the youngest daughter of Charles I and his formidable wife Henrietta Maria - Henrietta Anne, the young princess destined to be forever linked to the House of Bourbon.

Why was her childhood so different to that of her siblings? Did she ever meet her father? What was her life like during the English Civil War?

We sit down with Melanie Clegg, author of the only solo biography of Henrietta Anne, published by Pen & Sword. She is also known as Madame Guillotine.

More recently Melanie has penned a biography of Marie Antoinette, who, like Henrietta Anne, was a descendant of Mary Queen of Scots - another infamous Stuart woman. What's even more exciting is that Marie Antoinette's husband Louis XVI of France was a direct descendant of the young lady we're going to talk about today.

And our author herself is descended from the Stuarts as well.

Welcome, Melanie!

Our new music is brought to you courtesy of jimmy cheeseburgah .
