Fedimint Socratic Seminar w/Justin: Minneapolis, MN | Ep. 026

<p>Justin, organizer of BitDevs Minneapolis and a Fedimint protocol developer, joins us to talk about what a BitDevs meetup is actually for: furthering the community's understanding of Bitcoin without going so deep into the protocol stack that the impact stops landing. From there we go Socratic on Fedimint itself: guardians, gateways, and users as three distinct roles; how eCash notes are backed by an on-chain multisig; why the Lightning gateway is just a special client running a swap service; and what happens when a mint winds down. We close on FROST and ROAST, signing Nostr events with a federation, and why choosing guardians is a social problem more than a technical one; which makes a local meetup, with its built-in reputation and proof of work, a natural place to try it. </p>
