When Not to Use Your Brain

What happens when a man has the bank account, the house, the title, the "objectively good" life, and still can't sleep past 2 a.m.? On this episode of the Men's Therapy Podcast, host Marc Azoulay talks with Megan McDonald, founder of SomaQ (Somatic Intelligence Quotient), a former high-performing healthcare executive who burned out so completely her body started sending signals her bloodwork couldn't explain.

Megan and Marc dig into why men are often the last to notice they're dysregulated, because provider culture rewards exactly the symptoms that are quietly destroying them. She walks through how she reads tension in the body (jaw clenching, shoulder tightness, chronic insomnia between 1 and 3 a.m.) as data, not drama, and introduces her NeuroSoma Axis assessment as a way to bring measurable results to work that's traditionally been dismissed as "woo." Marc reframes trauma as "conditioning" to make the work land for men who reflexively reject the word trauma, and the two trade stories about how emotional release shows up physically, sometimes on a massage table, sometimes mid-breathwork, and why that's a sign of healing rather than something to be embarrassed about.

For more podcasts, blogs, and to get involved in the Men's Therapy Online Community, visit www.menstherapy.online.

Follow us on social media: https://mtr.bio/mens-therapy-online.

Connect with MeganWebsite: https://www.soma-q.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/megan-mcdonald-serve-not-sell Resources MentionedIndividual Therapy:https://menstherapy.online/?utm_source=Podcast&utm_medium=Service&utm_campaign=Individual_TherapyMen’s group:https://menstherapy.online/mens-groups/?utm_source=Podcast&utm_medium=Service&utm_campaign=Mens_GroupsMTO Slack:https://menstherapy.online/slack/?utm_source=Podcast&utm_medium=Slack_CTA&utm_campaign=MTO_SlackWebsite:https://menstherapy.online/
