Not so many years ago, whenever I received a message like the one that landed in my WhatsApp the other day, I would shrink inside and carry a sour feeling in my stomach for days.

At best, I’d ignore it.At worst, I’d think I was far better than whatever was about to happen there.

And still - this time it happened again. My first reaction was the same: a contraction.

But today I know something I didn’t know back then:Feeling this contraction is part of nature’s survival mechanism.

And today I also know how to give those difficult, paralysing feelings their space:

Only after I breathed deeply, I looked at the message again—and suddenly I could see what this invitation might really have to offer me.

It wasn’t easy to get here. It’s something I agreed to learn.

I recorded a new and very frank podcast episode about this kind of learning: the one we keep doing all our lives, if only we’re willing.

I hope it'll talk to you.
