“REFUSE TO DECLINE”: UNLOCKING LIFELONG WELLBEING w/Eileen Kopsaftis (Have LifeLong Wellbeing)https://havelifelongwellbeing.com/

What if some of what we've been taught to accept as an inevitable part of getting older isn't inevitable at all?

What if pain isn't always coming from the place where it hurts?

In Episode 95 of REAL RESILIENCE TALK, Coach Cam sits down with Eileen Kopsaftis for an educational conversation about resilience, chronic pain, human movement, mobility, aging, self-care and lifelong well-being.

For more than 30 years, Eileen has helped people better understand their bodies while challenging commonly held beliefs about pain and physical decline. After losing two brothers in their forties — one to cancer and another to heart disease — that mission became deeply personal.

Eileen earned her physical therapy degree in 1994 and continued studying nutrition, manual techniques, authentic human movement, Applied Functional Science, MELT and other approaches to health and movement.

Her work raises an important question:

Instead of only asking, "Where does it hurt?" what if we also ask, "What is contributing to why it hurts?"

The human body is interconnected. A painful area may sometimes be compensating for another part of the body that isn't moving or functioning effectively. Eileen explains why examining movement throughout the body can offer another perspective on chronic pain and physical function.

There is a difference between aging and giving up on our ability to adapt — and between treating a symptom and attempting to understand what may be contributing to it.

That's where this conversation connects directly to RESILIENCE.

Resilience isn't pretending adversity or pain doesn't exist. It isn't about being invincible.

As Eileen says:

"Resilience is the fact that we don't quit."

We keep learning. We keep asking questions. We keep adapting. We keep moving.

Eileen also challenges the assumption that pain, weakness and loss of mobility are simply "what happens when you get old." Accepting that belief may stop us from searching for ways to preserve or improve our function.

"Pain is a contributing factor to so much decline."

This episode isn't about promising a miracle cure. It's about education, curiosity, movement, asking better questions, understanding our bodies and HOPE.

Most importantly, it's about refusing to quit on ourselves.

Eileen Kopsaftis is a physical therapist, educator, chronic pain consultant, Certified Applied Functional Science professional, MELT Certified Instructor, nutrition educator graduate, author and founder of Have LifeLong Wellbeing.

For more than three decades, Eileen has studied movement, pain, health and aging. Through Have LifeLong Wellbeing, HLW Academy, Pain Culprits, Aging Culprits and the Move Without Pain Private Club, she works to make complex information about movement and lifelong well-being understandable and accessible.

Her message is one of education, movement, empowerment and hope:

"REFUSE TO DECLINE."

Have LifeLong Wellbeing:
https://havelifelongwellbeing.com/

About Eileen Kopsaftis:
https://havelifelongwellbeing.com/about-eileen-kopsaftis/

HLW Academy — About the Academy:
https://hlwacademy.com/about-the-academy/

Move Without Pain Private Club:
https://mwpprivateclub.com/

Pain Culprits:
<a href="https://painculprits.com/" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer" target="
