J.M. Logan: From Leatherface to The Relic: Dragon

This week I'm joined by filmmaker J.M. Logan, and this guy has some STORIES.

J.M. has worked on more than 100 films over the last three decades, but he got an especially wild start: at just 19, he worked on Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation, where he created all three of Leatherface's looks — including the Pretty Lady mask. And when they needed somebody to actually be Leatherface for part of the chase? Yep. He did that too.

We talk about growing up in Austin obsessed with making movies, practical effects and animatronics, working with Screaming Mad George, The Passion of the Christ, Apocalypto, and what decades behind the scenes taught him about actually getting a movie made.

Then we get into Josh's new adventure-horror feature The Relic: Dragon, the beginning of his planned Relic Universe. We talk monsters, cosmic horror, practical effects, indie filmmaking and why he decided that everyone who worked on the movie should share in its success.
