Truth in the Age of Applause & The Battle For Justice

It doesn't seem that long ago when we all generally understood that the NBA was for men and the WNBA was for women. But then we entered the age of "Men can be Women," and so we were no longer permitted to publicly define what a woman is. However, we were expected to start referring to them as "birthing person" or something else that was just as equally asinine. Recently, a popular player in the WNBA insisted that a man cannot become a woman and that only women should play in the league for women. This led to a backlash from other players, coaches, and even the league "leadership," not to mention a number of activists on both sides of the argument who claim to be fans of the sport. I am scheduled to be joined by Dr. Andrew Fox, an organizational culture expert, professor, priest, and author of the forthcoming book, Truth in the Age of Applause: How Stupidity Is Ruining the American Dream, to discuss not just this issue, but the underlying root cause.

The nation has been obsessively watching the Lindsay Clancy trial not just for the drama of the case but also the outside-of-the-courthouse drama of picking sides, alleged juror intimidation, jurors ignoring the instructions of the judge, and even defense attorney Kevin Reddington accusing a juror of lying in a heated exchange in court when he said

that two jury notes suggest that the juror was refusing to apply the law and "not being honest" with the judge. The midterm elections are just around the corner, and if you believe the polls, several important races are too close to call right now. Labor Day is just next Monday. These, and possibly more if time allows, are the topics my scheduled guest, Richard V. Battle, and I will discuss.
