Meer dan de helft van de wereldbevolking is vrouw. Maar van de Belgen die een hoger diploma halen in STEM — Science, Technology, Engineering en Mathematics — is dat maar een goeie 20 procent. En dat is een pak minder dan elders in Europa, terwijl STEM nochtans de motor is achter onze vooruitgang, zeker nu die almaar digitaler wordt. Waar zit het probleem? Wat kunnen we daaraan doen? Women make up more than half of the world's population, but of the Belgians who obtain a higher degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) only 20% are women. That is significantly less than elsewhere in Europe, despite STEM being the engine that drives our progress, particularly in the digital world. So, why are there more males in STEM jobs and what can we do about it? Finally, what's at stake if we continue down this path?
