Lindsey Clancy killed her three kids. Massachusetts gave the jury an insanity off-ramp wide enough to drive a truck through. Nine women and two of the three men were ready to take it.

One man was not.

He was the only person of color in the room. A Black man. After they watched Clancy’s interview, he even admitted he had reasonable doubt — then refused to sign off on not guilty by reason of insanity anyway. The nurses on the panel walked him through the meds and the toxicology. He didn’t care. The women started filling out the forms. He still said no.

Now they’re on camera calling him arrogant. He “didn’t take anything anybody said.” Gayle King had to sit down when she found out the holdout was a Black man. An Oprah panel then cheered a doctor arguing Black women who kill their children deserve the same energy Clancy almost got.

Clay’s take is simple: that dude had his head on straight. He did it for those kids. He didn’t bow. And the people losing their minds over it just told you everything you need to know about who they thought he was supposed to be.

One juror kept a child killer from walking on a technicality. The rest of the room has been explaining why that was the wrong call ever since.
