Repressed Anger & Eczema: When Unprocessed Emotions Show Up as Skin Flares - S7E2215 Apr34 min

Eczema isn't just a skin issue. But what if some of your flares were connected to emotions your body never fully got to express, especially anger?

In this episode of The Eczema Podcast, we explore the hidden connection between repressed anger, chronic stress, and eczema flare-ups. When anger is pushed down, ignored, or never fully expressed, the body may still carry that stress internally.

Over time, this can keep the nervous system on high alert, activate the HPA axis, increase inflammatory pathways like IL-4, and weaken the skin barrier. The result? More dryness, inflammation, itching, and flares that seem to come out of nowhere.

We also share common patterns we've seen in clients where emotional stress may be playing a deeper role, including:

- Eczema on the upper body, especially the face, neck, chest, and eyes

- Persistent dryness with no obvious external trigger

- Eye eczema and inflammation

- High histamine tendencies
