Why do we sometimes find ourselves repeating the same unhealthy relationships and patterns — even when we know they’re hurting us?
In this Bite Size episode of The Inner Entrepreneur, Ginny Prim shares the deeply personal story of discovering that the man she loved had been living a double life — and the difficult inner work that followed.
Rather than simply asking, “Why did this happen to me?”, Jenny began asking a more powerful question:
“Why was I allowing this into my life?”
She discovered that some of the behaviours she had experienced felt familiar because of patterns established much earlier in life. And until those patterns were recognised, there was a danger of recreating them again.
Ginny describes it brilliantly as “Whack-a-Mole”: you remove one unhealthy person from your life, but unless you understand what drew you into that dynamic in the first place, another can eventually appear.
We also explore the crucial distinction between blame and responsibility. You are never responsible for somebody else's abusive or manipulative behaviour. But you can still look inward, understand your own patterns and make different choices in the future.
