On Tuesday, May 6, 2014, a woman called 911 from the lakeside home of her friends, Russell and Shirley Dermond.

The elderly couple had been missing for days. Concerned friends went to check on them and made a horrifying discovery inside the garage: Russell Dermond was dead. Shirley was nowhere to be found.
